It's time for a Colby update!
Colby is 14.5 months old, eats like a garbage disposal, can chug a sippy cup in mere seconds, takes about 6 steps at a time, dances with his hands in the car and goes down at naps and bedtime easier than any baby in the world. Fact.
He also says a lot of different words:
Hi!
Mom
Dad
Kyla
Doggy
Sit (to dog)
Thank You
All done
uh oh
splish splash
bye bye
night night (nigh nigh)
(I'm sure I am missing some)
along with LOTS of boy sounds
He also says, "What's this?" and "What's that?" All. the. time.
I like to describe it by saying, "What's this and what's that, what's this and what's that?"
I'll bring him in my bathroom to crawl around so I can keep an eye on him while I get ready. Today he pulled open a drawer.
"What's this?"
bobby-pins
"What's this?"
a make-up bag
"What's this?"
a container
"What's this?"
rubber bands
"What's this?"
eye makeup remover
"What's this?"
bobby-pins
"What's this?"
a make-up bag
"What's this?"
a container
... I think you get the idea.
I think it's so cute, well, at least it's cuter than when he crawls around saying "Mom" for 20 minutes straight.
My mother in law put things into perspective one night Kyla was talking nonstop. It was such a joy for her to hear Kyla go on and on and on. She told me about when Stephen's brother lost his hearing when he was about 2 or 3 and stopped talking all together. I can't imagine this happening to one of my kids.
I'm so thankful Colby can talk, he can hear and he is inquisitive.
