Seems like I could write three different posts with a title like that, and I could! But let's be real... it's not gonna happen. I don't schedule out my blog posts, and I definitely don't pre-write them only to perfectly space them out so I post regularly and often. I'm gonna leave that one to the annals er, the professionals. ; D
Announcement!!:
It worked!
(I've always wanted someone to announce a pregnancy this way)
I sharpened my razor with my jeans. Check it out
It's great because these razors are SUPER expensive. Actually... they are. I hate buying razors because for as much as they cost, they don't last that long! Now they do, oh yeah!
Confession:
I did a horrible parenting thing... and now I need help. So Kyla was wearing her flamingo Pj's... like she always does, watching tv one morning. I asked her twice if she needed to go potty and she kept telling me no. Well, all of a sudden the needs to GO. She makes it to the bathroom, but not quite on the potty. This girl never has accidents, but this was her second of this kind, so I was super annoyed that she had an accident because she couldn't pull herself away from the tv for 30 seconds to go. So she gets no more tv for the day and... I tell her I have to throw her flamingo pj's away because they got pee'd on, as well as her slippers. Um, obviously I didn't throw them away, since they have been SUCH an important part of our lives, I washed them... but do I give them back or no? It's been a couple weeks, she says she's sad she doesn't have them and we eventually got new pjs (since all her others are 2T's, they fit, but it's time for new ones). Soooo... do we forget about them, or give them back?
Birthday!:
Colby turned two on April 11th! We had my parents and sister over as well as Stephen's parents for dessert. It was nice and there was no poop mess. Yes, I am still scarred from Kyla's January birthday 'party' and may never have a kids party again, especially when its so nice and easy and enjoyable with just grandparents... they give the best gifts anyway! I kid, I kid...
Here are some pics - thanks to Sara for picking up the camera and snapping some photos!
Don't mind Colby's bed head. Poor kid didn't get his hair done for his birthday!
Buzz and Buzz (Woody)
crazy boy!
Don't forget to weigh in on the pajama predicament!
David says you should probably get rid of them because otherwise you lie to your kids -- and Kyla is old enough to know that. Keep the lines of communication open and honest.
Maybe you could reward her and "buy" her new mingo PJ's. That would still by lying...but she wouldn't know it.
PS: David also said that you could use it as a teaching opportunity and ask Kyla for forgiveness for lying to her -- and tell her that you have the PJ's and then give them to her.
1. Ooooooo--razor trick is so intriguing. I HATE buying new razors too so I'm totally gonna try it. 2. Happy Birthday, Colby! I love that he got a a new Buzz and Woody (and CFA cow). That picture of him in bed with his buddies is adorable. Way to push through the b-day party fear! 3. I vote tell Kyla that they didn't get thrown away. When she's older she's going to know you have them and might remember that you told her they went in the trash. Then you'd have some 'splanin to do.
I say leave it alone for now...then in a year or 2 or 3, when shes older and can understand, then explain what happened, that you planned to throw them away and why you needed to teach her a lesson. Then tell her that since you knew they were so special, you couldnt ACTUALLY bring yourself to throw them out...so you stashed them in a drawer- until she accidentally finds them someday. You can explain that you saved them since they were SO special- then she will think your the best mom ever and you didnt have to lie. Thats the truth:)

I don't know. That's hard.
